‘MONEY TALKS’ contains images of a number of banknotes, obtained by the artist while he worked as a bank teller. Individually these notes offer a glimpse into the lives of the people who wrote them. As objects they signify moments of shared experience where money exchanged hands. Collectively they tell a story of Australian culture at a particular moment in time when paper money is fast losing its currency.
